Special call on the Ukraine crisis
22.03.2022
We also heard the news on February 24, 2022, shaking our heads and being stunned. We quickly agreed that all the help we could get would be necessary for the refugees from Ukraine. So a campaign was planned for the upcoming German championship in Hamburg at the end of March. The popular wristbands will be available in a special edition in Ukrainian colors and the slogan has been adapted for the campaign: Eat, Sleep, Jump – Peace. 1000 bracelets are available, which we have thankfully been sponsored, so there is no cost at all and the donations go entirely to the good cause - but which cause should you support?
The solution was quickly found. The trampoline trainer couple from SV Brackwede from Bielefeld, Vladimir Volikov, state coach in the Westphalian Gymnastics Association, and Oksana Verbytska are natives of Kiev. A phone call between Vladi and Marc quickly showed that every cent could be put to good use. It was reported that some relatives and close friends had already arrived here from Ukraine, primarily women with their small children. All of them with almost no luggage, just what they could quickly grab. In some cases it has already been possible to get the first apartments, but these are empty and mostly unrenovated. We want to provide targeted support here and the donations collected go to Bielefeld and stay in the “trampoline family”. If you would like to donate something, you can do so either on site in Hamburg on March 26th and 27th, 2022 as part of the German Double Mini Trampoline Championship or via our donation account (IBAN: DE04 4036 1906 7211 5616 00), mandatory The intended use is then “Ukraine”. We would like to thank everyone who supports this campaign.
A strong debut year encourages the support association
04.01.2019
Organize help and collect money for people who urgently need it. What sounds like a good intention is the program of the “Förderverein Jump e.V.” A successful premiere year gives courage and confidence that we can help seriously injured trampoline gymnasts again in 2019. There are over 84,000 euros in the annual balance sheet, which is heavily influenced by the story of Tabea Schoch. Since a training accident, the young gymnast from TV Weingarten has been paralyzed and dependent on a wheelchair. But with impressive will and courage to face life, she fights for every little bit of progress in her life situation, which has changed dramatically from one second to the next. She can also rely on an environment with friends who crowned their willingness to help with an extraordinary action. A concert in favor of and also to the surprise of Tabea mobilized so many donations that in the end, together with the support of the support association, 50,000 euros were shown on a large video screen. This money was and is now being used to finance earmarked aid measures for Tabea.
But money is also available for other cases in the donation account of the support association, the basic idea of which is based on the training accident of the first German Olympic trampoline gymnast, Michael Serth. 26 members joined the support association in the first year in order to increase the amount of donations with a self-determined annual contribution. Small, colorful bracelets proved to be a real charity hit. In all sorts of colors they adorn the wrists of trampoline gymnasts and other people who are interested in this fascinating sport and the good cause. The slogan “Eat, sleep, jump – repeat” is not only widespread in the Lake Constance area, where TV Weingarten repeatedly placed large orders.
Demand and the associated willingness to help were also high at many championships. One of the best trampoline gymnasts in the country became a tireless support association ambassador: Daniel Schmidt, 20-time German champion on the trampoline and the double mini-trampoline. Wherever the Hamburg native is in action, he drums for a good cause - whether as a successful “Ninja Warrior” and “Big Bounce” participant on television or as a national gymnast on international competitions. From the European Championships in Baku, Schmidt brought a T-shirt with all the signatures of the DTB team, the auction of which further increased the proceeds of his commitment. At the German championships organized by his hometown club Bramfelder SV, he had recently handed over a check for 3,000 euros to the board of the support association with Frauke and Marc Schmittka as well as Ralf Schutz, who, in addition to their tireless commitment to trampoline sport, are also the driving forces of the are good things.
Not every year will bring such extraordinary events and results as 2018. But the foundation has been laid for help that, ideally, will of course not be needed in the first place. However, the support association hopes to be able to further strengthen this foundation with as much support as possible. The first major sporting event of the year will be the German double mini trampoline championships on 23/24. March - in Weingarten.
